CCT’S RESILIENT INFRASTRUCTURE ENSURES RAPID RECOVERY POST-STORM

Caribbean Cellular Telephone (CCT) is pleased to report significant progress in its network restoration efforts following the recent passage of Tropical Storm Ernesto, which brought hurricane-like conditions to the British Virgin Islands in mid-August.

The company has announced that its wireless network is now fully restored at 100%, while its fibre network has reached 97% restoration.

Chief Executive Officer Averad Penn expressed satisfaction with the restoration progress, stating, “CCT’s primary goal has always been to provide uninterrupted service to its customers. The rapid recovery of our network reflects the significant investments we’ve made in infrastructure resilience over the years. Investments made in the network following the devastation of the 2017 Hurricane Season have proven invaluable in minimizing service disruptions and ensuring that our customers stay connected.” 

“We understand how crucial connectivity is, especially during and after severe weather events. Any customers still facing issues are urged to reach out, and our team will ensure they are back online promptly”, he added. 

Chief Technical Officer Kyle Dasent also expressed satisfaction with the restoration progress, stating, “Our restoration has been going very, very well. Our team has been working hard, and we are pleased to have completed all the necessary restorations to the wireless network. We have a very minimal number of customers on the fibre network who are still having issues, and we hope to address their challenges over the next few days.”

Dasent also took the opportunity to commend his team for their dedication and efficiency. “I would like to extend the most gratitude to my team. They are the ones who have been doing a great job with the restoration efforts and getting things done in such a timely manner. It’s pretty amazing. Of course, there are always new ways to improve, and we have taken note of those areas so that we are even better prepared for future storms.”
