Grammy award-winning songwriter, Theron Thomas, has issued a warning to fans about scams that have surfaced following his recent Grammy win.
These scams are attempting to capitalize on his image and trick fans into buying into projects that he is not involved in.
“Who the ** have time to make fake pages of me?” Thomas asked in a recent social media video as he revealed to fans that a fake Facebook page, a fake X (formerly Twitter) page, a fake TikTok page, and a fake Instagram page have all appeared recently.
Thomas also shared that someone wrote a biography about his life and is selling it on Amazon without his involvement in the project.
Following Thomas’ video, 284 Media visited the popular shopping site and found four books claiming to be “The Biography of Theron Thomas”.
None of these books cited Thomas or his associates as contributors, and all were published within days of his Grammy win.
In addition, Thomas has alerted fans to people attempting to sell fake autographed photos of him that he did not sign and has nothing to do with.
While he is not pleased that these activities are taking place, he jokingly said that what he does “admire” is the time these people have to be doing this.
Looking at the silver lining, Thomas remarked, “I popping, Aye! *pop**pop* like that”.
He added, “Nobody didn’t care about me. About three weeks ago there wasn’t no fake nothing. It was all real Theron. It was all me responding to every message. Now I have bots? Artificial Intelligence? I popping!”
