NO IN-PERSON CLASSES AT ESHS ON FRIDAY, MAY 3RD

Elmore Stoutt High School will transition to remote learning this Friday, May 3rd in response to undisclosed incidents of “extreme misconduct” that occurred on the school’s campus this week.

In a notice released on Thursday night, the school’s administration stated that the move to virtual classes on Friday was made “as our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff.”

The decision to activate the school’s remote learning plan for one day was made by the Ministry of Education, in consultation with the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, in order to “provide a secure environment for all while facilitating the ongoing investigation by the police,” according to the statement.

Few details about the nature of the misconduct incidents were provided.

“The Ministry remains committed to ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for all students at the Elmore Stoutt High School,” the notice stated. “We will provide regular updates as the situation unfolds and endeavour to keep you informed of any developments.”
