The Ministry of Education has announced that all schools, except for the Ivan Dawson Primary School, will resume in-person learning today, Friday, June 7.
This decision comes after all public schools were closed on Thursday due to adverse weather conditions that impacted the territory.
Acting Chief Education Officer, Mrs. Orlandette Crabbe, communicated the update to parents and guardians through a letter this morning.
“We thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation as we strive to provide a safe and effective learning environment for our teachers and students,” Crabbe stated.
The temporary closure had led to students and teachers staying at home and activating online learning methods to ensure that education continued despite the adverse conditions.
The ministry’s decision to reopen schools reflects an improvement in weather conditions and a commitment to maintaining regular educational activities for students across the territory. The Ivan Dawson Primary School remains closed, with no specific reopening date announced yet.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to stay informed through official channels for any further updates regarding school operations.
