Elmore Stoutt OBE, a prominent cultural figure in the British Virgin Islands, was recently honoured by the Cane Garden Bay Baptist Church as part of its Homecoming Sunday Service.
The video tribute, played during the church’s service on Sunday, featured Stoutt reminiscing about his childhood on Tortola as part of the church’s “A Moment in History” Series. He shared memories of summer games and the abundance of fruit that characterized his youth on the island.
Stoutt also recalled traditional practices, including the construction and use of a “Bato,” a type of small boat used for fishing.
