Late Thursday night, officers from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) Marine Unit intercepted a vessel suspected of drug trafficking and made several arrests.
The vessel, carrying several concealed packages believed to contain cocaine, was seized, and its three male occupants were arrested and taken into custody.
According to the RVIPF, the incident unfolded shortly after 11:00 p.m. on May 30, when RVIPF Marine Unit officers received a tip-off about a suspicious vessel during their routine patrol. Acting swiftly, the officers coordinated with other law enforcement agencies to track and intercept the vessel.
Upon interception, a thorough search of the vessel was conducted, leading to the discovery of multiple packages hidden within the vessel. The contents of these packages are suspected to be cocaine, though official confirmation is pending further analysis.
The three individuals aboard the vessel were immediately detained and are now in police custody. The RVIPF has indicated that investigations are ongoing, and additional information will be released as the case develops.
