POLICE CONSTABLE INTERDICTED AMID CONTRABAND SMUGGLING INVESTIGATION

A Police Constable has been interdicted from duty following an investigation into an attempted contraband smuggling at His Majesty’s Prison.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) in a recent media release said it is currently probing the incident, which occurred on Friday, July 5, 2024.

The interdicted officer was arrested for questioning and has been released pending further investigation. In a coordinated effort, the RVIPF noted that it is working closely with prison authorities to advance the investigation. The specifics of the contraband and how the attempt was made have not yet been disclosed.

Acting Commissioner Jacqueline Vanterpool has assured the public of the RVIPF’s dedication to maintaining integrity and accountability within the force.
