Former Premier of the Virgin Islands, Andrew Fahie, has been relocated to the Federal Correctional Institution in Jesup, Georgia, where he continues to serve an 11-year sentence.
Previously held in Miami, Florida, following his sentencing in August, Fahie is continuing to appeal his conviction through the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals. His release date is currently listed as July 24, 2033, according to records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, which 284 Media confirmed.
The Jesup facility, described as a medium-security federal correctional institution with an adjacent low-security satellite prison and a minimum-security satellite camp, is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons under the United States Department of Justice.
Fahie’s transfer comes as his legal team, led by prominent attorney Benedict P. Kuehne, presses forward with efforts to overturn his conviction. He joins a population of over 1000 male inmates at the FCI.
