After 25 years of providing Christian based primary education in the Territory, Agapé Total Life Academy (ATLA) is pleased to announce that it will introduce a Grade 7 in time for the 2024-2025 school year at Anderson Estate, Tortola, following the recent approval from the Ministry of Education to expand to a secondary division.
Known for producing individuals with strong academic skills, students enrolled in the new Grade 7 will receive instruction in various subjects to further strengthen their educational pursuits.
“During our first year, the ATLA high school will only cater to a maximum of 15 students, at the Grade seven level, thus space is limited. It is our hope that given our proven track record with an Abeka curriculum, our high school will become the preferred choice as we offer another option in Christian education in the Territory,”
School Administrator Lynette Smith said. The School Administrator said this expansion to a high school aligns with the daycare to tertiary level educational vision of our affiliated church, Agapé Total Life Center, (ATLC) to provide comprehensive Christian education, so it is really exciting that our vision is being realised at this time.
Among the many benefits of attending the new ATLA high school is the prospect for on-line dual enrollment, from the sophomore year, for qualifying and high-achieving students, who are seeking an additional academic challenge. This programme would allow students to simultaneously enroll in Pensacola Christian College in Florida, USA and graduate from ATLA high school with up to one year’s worth of college credits, as part of its relationship with Abeka.
Expressing excitement about the addition of a high school, Apostle Curnal P. Fahie, servant leader at ATLC, said that upon graduation, we missed the opportunity to retain graduating students, along with their younger siblings and family members, because Grade 6 was our highest offering. Adding a Grade 7, would solidify our students’ academic foundation and retention rate as they continue to benefit from our Abeka curriculum that provides excellence in education from a Christian perspective.
With limited spaces available, interested persons can collect application forms from the school office at Anderson Estate from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and/or e-mail to agapetla@gmail.com by the registration deadline of June 30, 2024.
Founded by Pastor and educator, Dr. C. Lucia Woods in September 1988 with seven students, ATLA is a comprehensive Christian educational institution, which currently accommodates children from ages 3 to 12 (K3 to G6).
