The Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports, Honourable Sharie B. de Castro, and her team visited the construction site of the new Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre this week, accompanied by the Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) project team.
The visit marks a significant step in the development of a facility designed to provide enhanced education for students with special needs in the British Virgin Islands.
The Ministry Team commented that it was inspiring to see the progress being made to create a state-of-the-art facility that will provide our special needs students with a safe and supportive purpose-built learning environment.
Principal Magdalene Alister and her team from the current Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre were also present at the site visit.
According to the RDA, most of the concrete works are completed. The project is awaiting the arrival of specialized long-lead items currently being manufactured, with completion anticipated by the end of the first quarter of 2025.
The new learning centre is part of ongoing efforts to improve educational facilities in the British Virgin Islands, with a focus on creating inclusive and supportive environments for all students.
