Persons seeking jobs within the public service are now required to apply via the new state-of-the-art online talent management system that was recently launched by the Department of Human Resources.
The department said the system aims to streamline the application process for positions within the public service and noted that it marks a significant departure from traditional methods, replacing the previous job board on the government website and discontinuing the acceptance of paper applications.
Access can be gained through the “JOBS” tab on the government’s website (bvi.gov.vg), where applicants can choose from the “Apply Here” options for public service or statutory body vacancies, respectively. The department said the transition to a fully digital process aligns with its commitment to enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the hiring process.
Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Sharleen Dabreo-Lettsome, emphasized the significance of the launch, stating, “The launch of this system is a significant milestone in our plans to transform the work of the Department of Human Resources, through our new Human Resources Management vision for the Public Service. We are working to bring job-seekers closer into this critical process.”
Some of the main features of the online talent management system include a simplified employment application process and the ability for applicants to track the status of their applications.
“This comes as the Department of Human Resources works to modernize communication with job seekers, transform the onboarding process, and reduce the time it takes for successful applicants to begin working,” the department stated.
Public Service Transformation Manager, Mrs Kishann Cupid-Braithwaite, highlighted the strategic focus on digital transformation within the public service, making it more environmentally friendly and accessible to all individuals, both within and outside the territory.
She expressed, “As we continue to transform the entire Public Service, we are focused on creating systems that are efficient and work to the benefit of our clients whom we proudly serve.”
