As accident victim Keron Andrew celebrates his 30th birthday today, his family and friends are appealing to the public to assist with the financial burden of his recovery.
The 29-year old remains in a critical condition following a devastating accident that saw him being airlifted to Trinidad for advanced medical treatment. The accident occurred on January 31st in Paraquita Bay.
His loved ones started a GoFundMe page entitled “Keron Andrews’ Medical Emergency Fund” and is imploring the public to make a monetary donation to assist with incurring medical expenses.
The Go Fund me page reads…
“Keron Andrews is a kind soul who was involved in a terrible car accident on January 31, 2020. He has been fighting for his life in the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital, Tortola, BVI and was able to be airlifted to Southern Medical in Trinidad on February 4, 2020.
February 5, 2020 (which is today) is Keron’s 30th birthday. He continues to fight for his life and has a long process of surgeries ahead of him before he can begin to recover. Keron is a good man, a son, and a friend to so many, but the financial burden of this long road will be too much for him and his family to overcome alone. Please consider donating any amount you are able. Your help will allow Keron to come out of this stronger and able to return to a life he was just beginning.”
In speaking with a close friend, our newsroom heard that the recovery process will be “long and somewhat difficult”, but Keron is encouraged by your prayers and assistance.
She said the $25,000 needed is to assist with costs for surgeries but expenses will continue to increase through the recovery process. “Any help is welcomed” she said.
The management and staff of 284 media would like to take this opportunity to appeal to the territory to make a monetary pledge to support the life and legacy of Keron Andrews.
There’s no better birthday gift than a second chance at life.
Speedy recovery Keron!
