B.V.I PORTS AUTHORITY TEMPORARILY CLOSES SELECTED PORTS

On Friday 13th March, the BVI Ports Authority announced the temporary closure of selected ports of entry and suspension of their Ambassador Service Program at all ports of entry.

The BVIPA notifies the public that all foreign vessels will be cleared at the following locations, until further notice: Road Town Ferry Terminal, Port Purcell Cargo Terminal (Cargo Vessels) and Sopher’s Hole, West End.

Acting Managing Director of The British Virgin Islands Ports Authority (BVIPA), Mr. John Samuel indicated that “The BVIPA has temporarily suspended acceptance of foreign vessel traffic at various ports in accordance with Governments decision. This will allow consolidation of the resources required to effectively support the clearance processes including additional COVID-19 screening requirements in these challenging times.”

He further stated that “The BVIPA is guided by its internal Pandemic Procedures Plan and the advice of the Ministry of Health and other relevant bodies”

These temporary closures takes effect Saturday 14th, March until further notice.
