Honorable Andrew A. Fahie and other members of Government will now meet daily for Cabinet following the Coronavirus pandemic.
Below is an official statement from Premier Andrew A. Fahie;
The safety of our Virgin Islands people and residents is your Government’s highest priority. To ensure that we continue to keep our fingers on the pulse of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, Cabinet has stepped up our meetings from once weekly to daily meetings, recognising that this is a fluid situation.
Additionally, the House of Assembly Members have also met on different occasions to discuss the Territory’s response strategies. All necessary measures, based on international protocols and best practices, are in effect to protect the people of the Virgin Islands, residents and all persons on our shores.
I wish to thank our team at the Ministry of Health, led by Minister Hon Carvin Malone, for their tireless efforts to keep the BVI ahead of the curve.
Other major decisions and announcements to strengthen our ongoing efforts for prevention will be taken as the necessity arises, and this will be done in acccordance with the international protocols and based on the advice from the technical officers.
As promised, I will keep you updated!
Andrew A. Fahie
Premier of the Virgin Islands
