Effective Monday, 16th March the British Virgin Islands Ports Authority (BVIPA) has announced heightened security measures for the Port Purcell cargo facility in Tortola.
The public is reminded that this is a restricted area and entrance into the facility are for legitimate reasons related only to the clearance and or collection of cargo.
Persons requiring access to the compound may be asked for proof of the following:
Documents identifying that they are going to Customs or collecting cargo. Confirmation that the cargo is ready and available for collection.
Additional measures include but are not limited to the following:
Truck drivers are not permitted passengers. Office visitors will need reception confirmation before access is granted. Persons coming directly to the pedestrian gate will also be screened before access is granted onto the facility.
