The Governor’s office and Government of the Virgin Islands has confirmed that all airports and seaports in the territory will be closed, effective 11:59pm tonight.
The notice reads “Effective this evening at 11:59pm all ports will be closed to incoming travellers for 14 days including nationals, belongers, work permit holders and residents.”
This means that no traveler will be able to enter the territory for the next 14 days and ports will only be open for incoming cargo and freight.
The Minister of Health also issued an order to prohibit all non-essential gatherings to 20 persons or more with effect from Monday March 23rd to April 17th, 2020.
Additionally, all businesses and services and recreational facilities must Be closed by 8:00pm and remain closed until 6am daily, from today, March 22nd until April 17th,2020.
To date there has been no confirmed cases of the coronavirus COVID-19 in the British Virgin Islands.
