Our newsroom can confirm the arrest and release of a local male businessman. Members of the RVIPF in a statement to us confirmed by stating: “I can confirm the arrest of one male for breach of curfew. He was cautioned and warned for the offence and released.” The incident occurred in the Duff’s Bottom area on Tortola, BVI. Officials did not release a name.
Earlier reports circulating indicated that a prominent Bishop had been rumored arrested for an illegal church gathering. Additional reports also stated that permission was seemingly granted by government officials, for three persons to conduct live streaming at a local church. However, police did confirm that he had no pass. Additionally, only the Governor of the Virgin Islands is mandated to grant such permission.
