14 DAY CURFEW BEGINNING THURSDAY

At the most recent press conference held this evening March 31st, 2020, leader of Government Business and Minister of Finance Hon. Andrew A Fahie along with cabinet members announced that effective 6:01 am on Thursday, April 2, the British Virgin Islands will be placed under a new curfew that will last another 14 days.

In outlining the new curfew, Governor of the Virgin Islands Augustus Jaspert said the new curfew will come with changes that were previously implemented to maneuver the spread of the coronavirus locally, termed an “absolute curfew” from 6 pm to 6 am daily, then a “limited and managed” curfew from 6 am to 6 pm daily. 

Special provisions are to be implemented for residents to access essential places such as pharmacies, supermarkets, banks, gas stations, and private medical facilities.

A garbage collection system will also be put in place and done on specific days.

Essential workers remain as needed with state issued passes.

A detailed plan of action will be further outlined for residents. More details to follow.
