HARNEY’S EMPLOYEE TESTS POSITIVE FOR CORONAVIRUS

An employee of Harney’s BVI has tested positive for the dreaded, Coronavirus. This was confirmed in a public release by the company.

The statement reads ” We can confirm that a member of our BVI office has tested positive for COVID-19. The person is recovering well and remains in quarantine at home under the medical supervision of the BVI Health Services Authority.”

The company stated that all staff who may have come into contact with the patient were alerted and advised into self-isolation protocols outlined by BVI Health Services Authority.

The Harney’s family also plans to halt operations beyond April 6th. They said “according to the latest government update, the curfew in the BVI is planned to be lifted on Thursday 2 April. However, we will continue to keep our premises closed until Monday 6 April. Employees will continue to work remotely in line with our Business Continuity Incident Management Procedures.”

It is unclear if the employee outlined was the third case recently identified by the Government of the Virgin Islands.
