BVI PUBLIC OFFICERS TO RESUME WORK ON APRIL 27TH!

Deputy Governor, David Archer just announced that the public service sector will resume operations on April 27th, 2020. While some are mandated to report to office, others will work remotely from home in light of the coronavirus crisis.

He expressed that from April 20th- 27th, Department heads and managers are to report to office to ensure that the departments are prepared to receive officers. Work spaces will be re-arranged to support social distancing and santization measures.

Mr. Archer also expressed that while business is sure to continue, it will not be business per usual. Going forward, all departments will be consulted on an appointment-only basis.

Additionally the Government’s contact line was revised. A call center is now instated and they are currently recruiting agents to fill a few positions.

While the majority of public service officers have retained their respective positions, some were redeployed to meet new and changing demands to avoid layoffs.
