The Recovery & Development Agency signed its third contract within a week.
The contract valued at $625,400, was signed between the Recovery & Development Agency and Quality Construction to completely rebuild the John E George Building in North Sound, Virgin Gorda.
The contract includes the complete refurbishment and redevelopment of the two-story building, re-working of the internal layout to include a public reception, mail and postal sorting facilities on the ground floor, a 500 square-foot reading room and lecture space on the first floor, and a 250 square-foot library, new office spaces for public servants and police officers.
The roof of the building will be inspected and repaired, and other areas such as the cistern, pumps, air conditioning will also be installed and repaired.
Construction is expected to commence immediately.
This project is being funded by the Government of the Virgin Islands through the Caribbean Development Bank’s Recovery & Rehabilitation Loan.
This is the second contract awarded to Quality Construction. They have also been contracted to complete the third phase of the Bregado Flax Educational Centre.

Vincent Wheatley expressed his gratitude as he witnessed the signing of the third public contract for the restoration of properties located in Virgin Gorda. These properties are the The Flax Administration Building, The Bregado Flax Educational Centre and now, the John E George Building.
