Virgin Islands’ resident Mr. Michael Anthony received the keys to his newly built home as part of the Housing Recovery Assistance Programme.
The keys were presented by Minister for Health and Social Development Honourable Carvin Malone and Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture and Seventh District Representative Dr. The Honourable Natalio Wheatley on May 14.
Honourable Malone thanked the housing team for their continued efforts in addressing the housing needs of persons and explained that the team continues to work even during this time of restructuring and adapting to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The project began in December 2019 by Wintson Penn Construction and was completed within four months. Beneficiary, Mr. Anthony expressed his gratitude to the Government of the Virgin Islands.
Ms. Alisia Browne and Mr. Greg Masicote of the Housing Recovery Assistance Programme were also present during the formal handing over of the keys.
The Housing Recovery Assistance Programme is designed to help homeowners rebuild in the wake of hurricanes Irma and Maria in accordance with the provisions of the Virgin Islands Housing Recovery Policy and Hurricane Irma Housing Recovery Plan 2017-2019.
