As the month of June draws near, the government of the Virgin Islands have made a link available for BVI nationals to register prior to their arrival into the Territory.
Persons gearing up to return to the BVI, can find the re-entry form at bvitravel.vg.
The government of the Virgin Islands explained that the re-entry of BVI nationals in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic will occur over several phases.
All persons returning to the Territory during the restricted border re-opening phase will be required to quarantine in government facilities or alternative accommodations for at least 14 days.
Any alternative accommodations will be subject to prior inspection and approval by the Ministry of Health and Social Development.
Persons considering home quarantine must demonstrate that they can be safely separated from others in the house and have separate bathroom facilities. No visitors will be permitted during this 14-day period.
Persons who wish to have their homes or other properties inspected for the purpose of accommodating persons who are expected to return home as part of their 14-day mandatory quarantine requirement are invited to call the Government’s Customer Service Care Centre at (284) 494-3701 and provide details of the property.
Persons are to call Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or they can also email bvireentry@gov.vg.
The registration process will take up to 7 days to receive travel authorization, once immigration status is verified and quarantine checks are completed.
Additionally, all returning persons will be subjected to a minimum of two tests; one of which will be done within 24 hours of re-entry into the Territory.
Confirmation of the re-entry registration is with the understanding that the returning national will adhere to all the conditions established for quarantine and restricted border reopening procedures.
