A man is now nursing two gunshot wounds to the body following a robbery that occurred in Port Purcell early this morning, May 31st.
It is alleged that the victim, while in the company of a group was approached by three masked gunmen. The group of men attempted to escape but the gunmen eventually caught up with the victim and demanded his valuables.
Based of reports, he was relieved of his cash and jewelry before being dealt two bullets to the abdomen and groin.
When contacted, AG Information Officer Akia Thomas of the Royal Virgin Islands Police force said ” I can confirm a report received from the Dr. D. Orlando Smith hospital of a male arriving with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Police responded and made inquiries that led them to Purcell Estate. Investigation into this matter is ongoing.”
The victim is said to be in a stable condition at the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital.
