PREMIER FAHIE CALLS FOR NO DISCRIMINATION AS QUARANTINED NATIONALS RE-INTEGRATE INTO THE COMMUNITY

On June 2nd, the Territory of the Virgin Islands re-opened its borders to BVI nationals.

In the House of Assembly, Premier of the Virgin Islands, Hon. Andrew A. Fahie announced that as of June 10th, six hundred and eighty one (681) registrations were submitted with three hundred and sixty two (362) verified by Immigration and cleared for processing by Environmental Health. 

Premier Fahie emphasized that returning nationals and residents must adhere to the health and safety requirements that are in place which includes mandatory quarantine procedures.

Premier Fahie calls for no discrimination

After nationals have successfully completed their mandatory quarantine period, and have tested negative for COVID-19, they will then be permitted to re-integrate into the community.

Premier Fahie said “Let us make sure that we exercise our wisdom and love as Virgin Islands people as brothers and sisters and ensuring there is no discrimination or prejudice. COVID-19 does not discriminate, and we shouldn’t either.”
