22 CUBAN DOCTORS TO ARRIVE IN BVI ON THURSDAY!

The British Virgin Islands is set to welcome a Cuban medical team on Thursday July, 23rd to aid in the fight against Coronavirus.

This was revealed yesterday in the House of Assembly by Premier of the Virgin Islands, Andrew Fahie who said “this has been long in coming and after their 14-days in quarantine, and after their successful COVID-19 testing, they will join our local medical team to strengthen our resolve in the fight against the coronavirus.”

“We requested the assistance in an effort to augment the capacity of the team of healthcare professionals currently at the BVI Health Services Authority to ensure that the territory is able to deal with any situation which may occur as we continue the cautious phased re-opening of our borders,” he said

To date Cuba has confirmed 2,446 cases with a massive 2,304 recoveries, 87 deaths and 55 active cases.

Cuban Doctors, often in the frontline of some of the worst epidemics, are coveted in crisis around the world, so this come as a relief for many in the Virgin Islands.
