MARIJUANA FOUND ABOARD FERRY, INVESTIGATION ONGOING

On Wednesday 22nd July, 2020, a captain and crew of a local ferry service were taken into custody after officers of the Department of Customs allegedly discovered Marijuana aboard the vessel.

Reports stated that discovery was made while the vessel was stationed at the Road Town Ferry Dock.

The six individuals were subsequently taken into custody by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).

In an invited comment, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force confirmed the arrest.

The spokeswoman said ” I can confirm the arrest of the captain and crew of a local ferry company this afternoon ( July 22nd) after a quantity of cannabis was found on board by customs officers. The investigation is ongoing.”

The RVIPF confirmed that all individuals have been discharged pending further investigation.
