The BVI Airports Authority wishes to advise the travelling public that as a result of the expected passage of Tropical Storm Isaias, the Terrance B. Lettsome and the Auguste George International Airports will be closed from 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 29.
According to Acting Managing Director Mr. Clive Smith, “the Board of Directors were immediately updated when a Tropical Storm Warning was issued for the Territory. He added that, “the Board approved a resolution to allow the closure of the airport to ensure that the necessary precautionary measures are taken to safeguard life and equipment at the aerodromes.” Mr. Smith asked all stakeholders and tenants at the Airport to ensure that their respective properties are secured by 11:00 a.m. on July 29.
The BVI Airports Authority will issue a further advisory on the re-opening of the territory’s airports after the completion of the requisite assessments by the Authority’s technical and management teams, following the passage of the storm.
