A Jamaican man was charged today for burglarizing Sunrise Bakery on July 6th and Riteway Supermarket on July 18th and 26th.
This was confirmed by AG. Information officer Akia Thomas of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force who said “Oshane Daley, a 20 year old Jamaican National , residing in Purcell Estate, has been charged with 3 counts of Burglary and Damaging Property.”
“He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison to reappear before the Magistrate’s Court on September 16, 2020 at 0900hrs,” she said.
On July 18th, 2020, Police received a report of an alleged burglary at Riteway in Pasea Estate at approximately 4:35 am
Inquiries indicated that the rear window leading to the kitchen was observed to be broken and objects inside the store appeared to have been tampered with.
The business was broken into again on July 27th by three masked men. Upon investigation, the security guard recognized that the perpetrators entered through a broken window. The ordeal was captured on surveillance camera.
Based on the reports, they escaped with the safe and bottles of alcohol.
Sunrise bakery was also burglarized on July 6th, 2020 by Mr. Daley.
