BVI FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION NATIONAL LEAGUE RESULTS

After the latest round of matches in the National League played on Sunday 9th August, the Wolues F.C. have gone back on top of the National League standings, but the race for the Championship looks like being the closest in living memory with five clubs still in reckoning.

The Wolues moved ahead of the Islanders F.C on goal difference following their 2-0 defeat of the Rebels F.C. with goals coming from Ian Chambers and Carl Moran.

Elsewhere, Nigel Sanderson scored twice late in the second half in a 2-1 win over VG United, to keep the Panthers interested in the Championship race, as they sit third, threepoints adrift of the top two, having played one more game.

Devante Samuel had given VG Utd the early lead, scoring in the 17th minute

And Chadwick Evans and Rickson Augustin scored in each half as One Caribbean F.C. cemented themselves into 5thplace, beating last weekends Festival Cup losing finalists, Lion Heart F.C 2-0.

The next round of matches, scheduled for Sunday 16thAugust, features the Sugar Boys F.C. against Old MadridF.C. at the National Stadium venue in East End / Long Look with a 4.30pm kick off. One Love F.C. face the Islanders at 6pm on the Virgin Gorda Recreation Ground and that game is followed by the Wolues F.C. taking on VG Utd at 8pm.
