ONE WEEK LATER: BVI UNDER CURFEW CONDITIONS ONCE AGAIN

After a week free from curfew conditions, the BVI has been put under curfew conditions once again.

After the confirmation of nine (9) new COVID-19 cases in the Territory, Cabinet has decided to impose a night time curfew.

As of August 22nd, the curfew will be imposed from 7:00p.m. to 5:00a.m. daily, for the next seven (7) days ending 29th August.

The new Curfew Order also restricts movement of vessels within Territorial waters; except for approved fisherfolks and inter-island ferries.

All ferries and aircrafts, except as approved, will be restricted from travelling to and from Anegada for the next 7 days ending the 28th August, 2020.

The BVI Health Authority will be instituting island-wide testing on the island of Anegada during this upcoming week.

No gathering should exceed 20 persons, with provisions for 6 six social distancing. This includes all weddings, funerals and faith based activities.

Cabinet has decided that all businesses will be allowed to operate, with the exception of the following: Bars/Night Clubs; Restaurants, except for takeout and deliveries only; Daycare Centres/Facilities; Recreational, gyms and sporting facilities/activities, including summer camps; and BVI/USVI freight couriers and charter companies, except for medical emergencies, as approved.
