Rehabilitation and slope stabilisation works are about to begin on the Hope Hill to Sabbath Hill road.
Works will be done in four main areas along the road and excavation and debris removal is scheduled to begin for the work site east of the catchment at Hope Hill.
The project is expected to last approximately eight months and two-way traffic will be interrupted and reduced to single lane at certain junctions along the roadway.
Motorists may suffer inconveniences as a result of the traffic stoppages during 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and are encouraged to use the Blackburn Highway when commuting to and from East End.
Additionally, traffic diversion signs have been erected at the following intersections to direct motorists on alternate routes:
• Little Dix Hill, Josiah Hill and Jennings Hill Road
• Ridge Road and Fort Hill Road
• Nottingham and Lower Hope Hill Road
• Nottingham and Long Look Road
Motorists are asked to drive with extreme caution and to follow road signs in these areas.
As the Ministry of Transportation, Works and Utilities and the Recovery and Development Agency continue to carry out various road infrastructural works in the coming months. Persons are asked to follow the Recovery and Development Agency (@RDABVI) and the Government of the Virgin Islands (@BVIGovernment) on social media for more information.
