Head of the Virgin Gorda Policing Division Acting Chief Inspector Selwyn Rock believes, with the public’s help, perpetrators in this week’s burglaries on Virgin Gorda could be quickly apprehended, putting an end to the recent crime spree.
During the overnight hours last night, two business establishments, Buck’s Supermarket and a business office were illegally entered. While nothing was reported missing from the supermarket, a significant amount cash was taken from the other location.
In addition, earlier during this week two villas on Virgin Gorda were also burglarised, one in Spring Bay and the other in Mahoe Bay. Flat screen televisions and a mattress were taken.
The Acting Chief Inspector says that while his officers are making progress in their investigations, information provided by Virgin Gorda community could help to expedite the process.
“Our desire is to bring a quick end to these burglaries by arresting the individuals responsible and restoring the Virgin Gorda community to its former tranquil existence. There are just a few, mostly young individuals responsible. We are asking the public to give us the help needed to identify these individuals.
Acting Chief Inspector Rock is inviting persons with information to call him directly at 368-9138.
