Police have arrested and charged Erick Rabsatt, 19, of Purcell Estate with death by dangerous driving and attempting to pervert the course of justice in relation to the October 2019 accident at Duff Bottom that took the life of Ryan Adams, 20.
Rabsatt, who was 17-years-old at the time of the accident, was the driver of the Freightliner truck that collided with Adams’ scooter on the evening of October 23. Adams was taken to hospital for treatment that night and died early the next morning.
The Director of Public Prosecution returned their advice yesterday march 15th on the file submitted by the Road Policing Unit in January 2020 following a thorough investigation in the collision. Other charges laid against Rabsatt are: driving without a driver’s licence and driving when not covered by insurance passed the stature of limitations and therefore were dropped.
Erick Rabsatt will appear before the Magistrate’s Court on the next available sitting.
