Saturday 27th March, 10 young people from Valley and North Sound, Virgin Gorda were installed into the Valley Sound Leo Club to reintroduce the club to the Virgin Gorda community. The club which first introduced on 19th February, 1990 has been dormant for five years. The new Leos pledged to reenergize the Virgin Gorda community with a spirit of care and giving.
The new Leos are Allonah Williams-President, Akoya Severen-Vice President, Jaeda Stevens-Secretary,Trinity Courtney-Treasurer, Dillan Joseph-Tail Twister, Kalifa Stevens-Public Relations Officer, Teagan Bishop-Tamer and Members: Jaekoi Baptiste, Nickyra Sinclair and Yaribel Samuel.
“ I pledge to you, the members of my club, my full cooperation, as well as that of my fellow club officers. In turn, I ask for your support, help, loyalty, and of great importance, your attendance at club meetings and participation in club fundraising and community service initiatives. Together, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate, and in our own lives, as we gain personal and professional skills that will last a lifetime” said President Allonah Williams in her installation speech. She will serve as President for one year.
The new Leos intend to continue host community events to further the global causes of Lion Club International namely: hunger, vision, childhood cancer, diabetes and the environment.
Already the Leos have raised money through a bake sale which will allow the club to host a charity lunch event in April during Leo Awareness Month and plans for a family show, community walk, family movie event are already afoot.
The Leo Club is advised by Hakim T. Creque, Tail Twister of the Valley Sound Lion’s Club.

The Valley Sounds Leo Club was established on 19th February, 1990. The first President was Sharon Flax.
The Valley Sound Leo Club meets on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month at the HLSCC VG Campus.
