WESTBOUND LANE OF JAMES WALTER FRANCIS DRIVE CLOSED TO FACILITATE VACCINATION DRIVE OVER THE WEEKEND

The motoring public is advised that the westbound lane of James Walter Francis Drive, from the traffic lights at Station Avenue (Red Cross area) to the round-about in Road Town will be closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday, July 17 and Sunday, July 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

This is according to a media bulletin from the Premier’s Officer this morning which said that the eastbound lanes will be converted into single west and east bound lanes during this time.

The purpose of the closure is to facilitate Operation Protect Each Other, a drive-thru vaccination programme.  Motorists are kindly asked to use alternate routes.

Meanwhile, residents of the BVI will have the opportunity to receive their 1st or 2nd dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine at the Operation Protect Each Other drive-thru vaccination programme.

The drive-thru will allow vehicles to enter the eastern gate of the Festival Grounds and occupants will be able to register, get inoculated, receive their cards and drive off in the convenience of their cars.

Persons aged 18 and older are advised to pre-fill registration forms available online at ministryofhealth.gov.vg/vaccines, walk with a government issued identification, wear their face masks and wear short sleeved tops for easy access to getting the vaccine.
