KEVIN FAHIE IS NEW LIONS CLUB PRESIDENT

The Lions Club of Tortola has elected a new president in the person of Mr. Kevin Fahie, General Manager of Caribbean Cellars Limited. The transition of leadership took place this week after former president Nichola Dunkley was not able to complete her tenure as president due to unforeseen circumstances.

In an official statement the club said, “There has been a recent leadership transition within the Lions Club of Tortola due to unforeseen circumstances, and we continue to wish our former President Lion Nichola Dunkley well in her future endeavours. As the former 1st Vice President, I was willing to step into the role of President and, along with our new 1st VP Lion Kamika Forbes, our Board and Members, the Lions Club stands ready to serve the community under the theme of “Impacting Communities with Kindness, One Life at a Time”.

The club further stated, “We are living in a time in the BVI, where kindness and community service are more relevant than ever, and where there is a need, there is a Lion. We recently assisted with the “Operation Protect Each Other Vaccination Drive Thru” over the weekend, and the Lions Club will continue to support the BVI community through innovative and safe projects. Further updates on our outreach will be provided through our Facebook Page.

In an invited comment, new President Mr. Kevin Fahie said, “I am honored to have been selected by my fellow Lion Club members to serve as president, in our quest to continue to serve our community and impact the territory, our region and by extension our world in the most impact way possible. We are indeed living in unprecedented times and I encourage each of us to contribute to our society in whatever way we can. As president I vow and look forward to serving the Lions Club of Tortola with vigor as we seek to better the Virgin Islands. The Lions Club has and will continue to be one of the key agencies that serve the BVI, giving back and assisting in various initiatives. I encourage fellow young professionals to embrace community service and consider joining one of the many service organizations in the BVI and lend their talents towards the success of their country. I take this time to offer an invitation to such persons to consider joining the Lions Club of Tortola and make positive change in these trying times. I also take this time as president to encourage all citizens of the BVI to be safe and follow all protocols as we grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic. I offer my sincere condolences to all persons who have lost loved ones during these times. Our thoughts prayers are with you.”
