INTERESTED CONTRACTORS REMINDED OF TODAY’S DEADLINE TO SUBMIT EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR CONSTRUCTION OF NEW ESHS CLASSROOMS

The government is reminding contractors that today Friday August 13 is the final day to submit the expressions of interest for the construction of new classrooms at the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) to the Recovery and Development Agency (RDA).

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries & Agriculture issued the reminder late Thursday August 12 via a media release.

The RDA invited contractors who specialise in prefab/modular building construction to participate in the pre-qualification process for the ESHS Re-development Project via its website and social media channels on July 28, 2021.

According to the ministry, the pre-qualification is open to national and international contractors who must meet a specific criteria to advance to the pre-qualification stage. This includes; experience of the firm, past performance, personnel capability, equipment capability and financial resources.

The ministry said a copy of the detailed pre-qualification requirements can be obtained by sending a request to: procurement@bvirecovery.vg

Earlier this week, Premier Andrew Fahie announced plans to relocate ESHS senior students from the CTL Building in Pasea back to the main ESHS campus by the end of the first quarter of 2022.

He said, “The project with the moving of our children, our senior students and also the teachers and support staff from the CTL building to the Elmore Stoutt High School campus is a project that is already on the way, which we will be moving very swiftly with, with a projected date of completion by the end of April 2022.”

Meanwhile, “Minister for Education Dr Natalio Wheatley said he was happy that the project is coming on stream.

“The Premier and Minister of Finance has agreed to finance the construction of additional school buildings on the Elmore Stoutt High School Campus to accommodate senior school students presently housed at Pasea Estate, and the growing population of Junior School students,” Dr Wheatley stated.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, August 13 at 10:00 a.m.
