Starting from today Tuesday August 17 there will be a reduction in ferry services operating between the United States Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands with one ferry leaving each territory per day.
This is according to the BVI Ports Authority which recently informed the public of the newly adjusted international ferry passenger schedule at the Road Town Jetty.
The Ports Authority said the decision is as a result of the significant reduction in arriving passengers to the territory.
“Per request from our International Ferry Operators the passenger ferry schedule between the British Virgin Islands and the US Virgin Islands has been adjusted for the period starting 17th August until 15th October 2021 due to reduced bookings,” the BVIPA stated.
“There will be only one daily round trip ferry service for this period with a maximum capacity of 65 passengers per trip. Ferry passengers arriving and departing the British Virgin Islands must reserve a ticket with the scheduled ferry operator through their booking portal,” the BVIPA further explained.
The new international ferry passenger schedule is as follows:
- All ferries will depart Road Town, Tortola for Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas at 9:00 a.m.
