FULLY VACCINATED TRAVELERS FORCED TO DO BOTH PCR AND RAPID ANTIGEN TEST UPON ARRIVAL INTO BVI, MINISTRY OF HEALTH SAY THEY DID NOT AUTHORIZE THIS!

Over the last 24-hours, fully vaccinated travelers entering the territory were mandated to test twice upon arrival at the seaports.

The outraged travelers said they were required to take both the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and the Rapid Antigen Tests at ports of entry without any substantial reasoning provided.

Under current protocols fully vaccinated travelers are subjected to a mandatory rapid antigen test.

A concerned tourist contacted our newsroom and complained about the new measures.

She said “Why are fully vaccinated travelers now being required to take both rapid antigen and PCR test upon arrival?  Is this a new policy?”. She added that the inconsistency is not only a major deterrent to travel but speaks poorly of the authorities tasked to lead the covid-19 charge.

Another traveler provided our newsroom with results from both tests to substantiate the claims.

Upon learning of this, our newsroom contacted the Ministry of Health. However, the representative stated that this was not authorized by the ministry, nor is it listed in the regulated protocols.

284 Media also requested a response on the matter from both the Minister of Health, Honorable Carvin Malone and Acting CEO of BVI Health Services Authority Mrs. Cedorene Malone-Smith but up to press time, those queries were not responded to.
