MISSING CANADIAN MALE YET TO BE FOUND AFTER SNORKELING OFF COOPER ISLAND

The search continues for a missing Canadian male who was last spotted snorkeling in the vicinity off Cooper Island on Monday October 25.

This is according to a media release from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force issued Tuesday October 26.

It said the Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR) and Customs officers are assisting officers of the Marine Branch of Royal Virgin Islands Police Force in their search for a male snorkeler who was reported missing yesterday morning while off Cooper Island.

The report revealed that initial investigations into the matter indicated that the snorkeler, who was described as a Canadian visitor to the territory, joined a charter with four other visitors, unknown to him at the time, which left Scrub Island for Cooper Island yesterday morning.

The report added that all five charter guests entered the water off Cooper Island, but the missing male snorkeler did not return to the boat.

Police said the search is continuing this morning and investigations are ongoing.
