The missing Canadian male who was last seen snorkeling off Cooper Island has been identified as Dennis Yuki Enomoto.

This was confirmed in a media release from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force on Tuesday November 2 which said the search continues for the missing 75-year-old who has been missing since Monday October 25.

The RVIPF said, “Dennis Yuki Enomoto, 75, of Canada was amongst a group of persons that was snorkeling near Cooper Island. He was last seen while the group was in the water, but when the others returned to the boat, Mr. Enomoto had not returned. A search of the boat, surrounding waters, nearby vessels and on Cooper Island itself turned up nothing.”

“Police and VISAR expanded searches to include the Sir Francis Drake Channel and many shorelines but to date he has not been found. The active search concluded on Sunday, October 31; however, the RVIPF Marine Unit will continue to be vigilant while on patrols and is also asking all mariners to keep an eye out while on the water in an effort to locate the missing snorkeler,” the RVIPF added.

Police said the family of Enomoto has been informed and is being kept updated as proceedings take place.
