UPDATE
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has confirmed that one male was shot and killed during an incident at a popular nightclub on Tortola in the wee hours of Saturday morning.
The RVIPF made the statement following an inquiry on the matter from our newsroom.
They said, “Police can confirm that one man has died following a shooting incident at a nightclub in the Freebottom area after 1am this morning.”
According to initial reports reaching our newsroom, the male was rushed to the Dr. D Orlando Smith Hospital following the incident where he later succumbed to his injuries.
284News knows the name of the deceased but will not be revealing it at this time until the family has been properly notified and an official statement is released by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).
