HOSPITAL PHARMACY TEMPORARILY CLOSED; CLOSURE IS CUSTOMARY AND NOT COVID RELATED SAYS BVIHSA

In a recent public advisory, The British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority announced the temporary closure of the Pharmacy at the Dr. Orlando Hospital.

The temporary closure begins today December 24th-December 29th, 2021.

Marketing and Public Relations Manager of the BVI Health Services Authority, Mr. Damion Grange has confirmed with 284 Media that it is customary for the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Pharmacy to close on holidays and weekends. As such, the notice of closure is their usual courtesy bulletin; informing the community of the temporary interruption to outpatient pharmacy services. Mr. Grange indicated that the pharmacy continues its inpatient services uninterrupted and stated that normal outpatient services will resume on Wednesday 29th December 2021.

The BVIHSA says they apologize for an inconvenience caused.

More to come as the story develops.
