The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force has issued an arrest warrant for 21-year-old Erick Rabsatt as a suspect in the shooting death of the late Jamiez Stoutt.
This was confirmed in a media release issued today Monday January 10, which said the arrest warrant has also been issued in the neighbouring United States Virgin Islands.
The RVIPF said, “The arrest warrant has been circulated within the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force and throughout the three islands of the U.S. Virgin Islands.”
“Officers of the Major Incident Team are asking family members and associates here and abroad to encourage Rabsatt to turn himself in for his safety so he can be questioned in the matter. Since he is wanted in connection with murder, his security and those of others around him are at high risk,” the RVIPF added.
The police also warned persons of the serious offence of harbouring a known fugitive, stating that there are severe consequences to such actions.
“Persons found sheltering, hiding or harbouring this suspect can also be charged and upon conviction face hefty penalties,” the release stated.
Rabsatt is described as being slim built, approximately 5’10” tall, weighing between 160 and 170 pounds and was last known to reside in the Pasea Estate area.
Police are encouraging persons who have seen Rabsatt or have information about his whereabouts to contact the Major Incident Team at 368-5682 or the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.
This is not Rabsatt’s first run in with the law as he was previously arrested and charged with death by dangerous driving and attempting to pervert the course of justice in relation to the October 2019 accident at Duff Bottom that took the life of 20-year-old Ryan Adams.
