The British Virgin Islands has recorded another COVID-related death as active cases continue to be on the decline with cases now under 70.
This was confirmed by the Ministry of Health in an epidemiological report dated Tuesday February 16, which revealed that the total COVID-related deaths in the territory now stands at 62.
According to the report, the active cases in the BVI is now 69 following 53 new cases and 60 recoveries.
Of that sum, 58 of the cases are on Tortola, 9 on Virgin Gorda and 2 on Jost Van Dyke.
34 of the cases are local while 5 are contacts of local cases. The remaining 30 cases were all detected during travel screening.
Also to note, there are presently 6 persons hospitalised for COVID-19.
