The Vanterpool Administration building which was repaired through a partnership between the Government of the Virgin Islands and the Recovery and Development Agency was officially handed over during an official ceremony on February 17th, 2022.
The complex is home to Government offices such as BVI Post, Environmental Health, Immigration, Labour, Water and Sewerage, Social Development, Inland Revenue, Civil Registry and Passport Office and the Premier and Visiting Minister’s Office.
The ceremony was attended by Government Ministers, civil servants and residents in celebration of the auspicious occasion. Residents on Virgin Gorda now have immediate access to essential government services that they would otherwise have to travel to Tortola to receive.
Some of the new features of the refurbished administration building include: new roof sheets, windows and hurricane shutters, full exterior and interior painting works, upgraded electrical system, plumbing fixtures and doors, and an improved security system.
