Vikings and Cavaliers came out victorious in the BVI Cricket Association’s T20 tournament when the competition continued over the weekend.
Playing in the first game of the double header at the Greenlands Recreation Ground in East End on Sunday February 20, Vikings set a total of 224 for 8 from their 20 overs against Under the Tree.
Junnic Mingo top scored for the Vikings with a brisk 40 from 12 balls, which included four 4s and three 6s.
Also tallying runs for Vikings were Collis Fraser and Vaden Walker who each had 37 runs.
For Under the Tree, Shem Ellis was the pick of the bowlers as he collected 2 wickets for 32 runs from his four overs.
In reply to the mammoth total, Under the Tree fell short by some 75 runs after they were bowled out for 149 in 16.1 overs.
Fraser completed an all-round performance with his impressive figures of 4 wickets for 28 runs from his 4 overs.
Sessie Ells was the top scorer for Under the Tree with his 44 runs from 23 deliveries, which included six fours and three 6s.
Meanwhile in the afternoon fixture, Cavaliers restricted their opponent Grenada to 93 for 8 from 13.2 overs and sailed to 95 for 3 in just 9.3 overs to win by 7 wickets.
For Cavaliers, Avishkar Sewkarran led the batting with 37 runs from 25 balls which included six 4s and one 6.
The competition continues on Sunday February 27.
