PREMIER FAHIE CONDEMNS VIOLENCE OF ALL KIND FOLLOWING BVI’S SECOND MURDER

Premier Andrew Fahie has sent a strong message across the BVI condemning all acts of violence.

The premier’s comment came during a recent press conference, following the untimely murder of young businessman Le’Shaughn A. Smith in Huntum’s Ghut on the night of Thursday February 24.

He said, “I wish to begin by stating that I strong condemn all forms of violence and I sympathize with the family of the young man who lost his life to violence in the Huntum’s Ghut area last night.”

Premier Fahie said that his government will continue to work with the relevant law enforcement agencies such as the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, Customs, Immigration, the Attorney General’s Office and the Office of the Director of Prosecution to ensure they have the needed resources.

He also said that the authorities cannot solve the problem of gun violence on their own, adding that the solution requires citizens playing their part as well.

Premier Fahie further said that the death of these young person’s affects the future of the territory.

He called on persons with any information on the recent murders to provide that information to the relevant authorities, to assist with the investigation process.
