BVI Film Commissioner, Natalie O. Hodge has said, “This festival provides an opportunity to create a partnership between the BVI and USVI film industries. Part of our mission is to collaborate with and assist our media professionals as they continue to develop their craft.”
The USVI’s Paradise 48 Hour FilmFest gives Virgin Islanders and Foreign Film makers the opportunity to showcase their talents and team. On Friday 17th June, each prospective filmmaker and team will race against the 48-hour clock to film and produce their short films. These films will be viewed by judges at the festival on the 25th June 2022. The viewing audience will also be given the opportunity to vote for their favorite film.
“I am pleased that we were able to facilitate the opportunity for British Virgin Islands’ media professionals to be a part of the judging panel at the upcoming USVI film festival. We were also able to provide sponsorship towards the winning prize, which ensures the successful team will produce a film of any genre or length with the BVI backdrop forming the scope of their production. This provides an avenue for us to further market the BVI as a film destination via the winning team and viewing audience of this film festival,” the BVI Film Commissioner added.
The BVI Film Commission’s mission is to foster, develop and promote a sustainable film industry for the British Virgin Islands a well as to provide opportunities for BVI media professionals within the film industry.
